Thoratec Corporation – Class 10,000 Clean Room & Operations Building Remodel
6035 Stoneridge Drive, Pleasanton, California
Contact: Patrick Schmitz, Operations Vice President
Project/Construction Management services for the design and construction of a remodel and expansion of the Client's existing operations building. The PM was tasked with coordinating and managing all design consultants to Value-engineer the project to meet the client's budget that was pre-established prior to development of the project program. The operations buildings offices and clean room were expanded while all existing operations and manufacturing functions were maintained. The clean room was doubled in size and through a three phase approach maintained critical operations of the Client's heart valve manufacturing plant. While re-configuring the clean room in size, the final remodel also created flexible lab space that can adapted to future product lines changes. The project was completed on-time with no lose in operating capacity and under budget.
